Why You Should Visit Disney World in 2024

Disney World has been all over the news lately. There are so many changes, increases, decreases, and statements, that it becomes overwhelming to decide if you want to visit. Along with this, on everyone’s Instagram and social media, you are bombarded with pictures of friends abroad and in a tropical paradise. But something in your heart points you to Disney World. If you are unsure if you want to visit, here are some excellent reasons why you should visit Disney World in 2024.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening and more

The first and biggest reason why you should visit Disney World in 2024 is the influx of new rides in the park. Disney has been making news headlines for their groundbreaking new rides, thrills, and upgrades. As you may have seen in the news in recent years, controversy has taken down the Splash Mountain ride, and Disney wanted to replace it with a more positive image. Enter The Princess and the Frog and her singing critters in the bayou. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the new drop ride opening on June 14, 2024. This ride will include a brand-new song, high-tech screens, realistic animatronics, and a 52-foot drop, all enjoyed with a jazzy musical number. There is no greater memory for the family than to witness a brand new ride in the first months of its opening. Disney World in 2024 gives you the opportunity to do so.

Even more, if you have not visited the parks in a while, there are so many more new rides you might not have been on. To start, the action-packed, futuristic Tron ride opened last year in April of 2023. This is a state-of-the-art coaster no one has ever seen before in the Disney bubble one now officially one of the best rides in the park.

Then lastly, over at Epcot, you’ll find the brand new Journey of Water, inspired by Moana. Learn how water moves the world and connects us all with this interaction attraction. Be amazed at the 16-foot grass and floral structure of the fictional Te Fitit from Moana. This opportunity is perfect for lovers of Moana who have been begging to see an attraction come to the park. With the brand new opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and many more rides, 2024 is the perfect time to visit Disney World.

Low crowds

The next reason why you should visit Disney World in 2024 is surprisingly low crowds. If you have even thought about visiting Disney World this year, you have likely been checking the app for wait times and trying to find out the best time to visit. I was doing the same before my trip this year and was shocked to find the wait times listed on the app so low. All the top rides were under 40 minutes in the peak of the day and in the summertime. Surely, their app must be buggy, I’ll go find out the wait times myself. To my surprise, everything was accurate. I spent my day waiting in lines that were only 15 to 30 minutes and this was in early summer.

The truth is, not many people are traveling to Disney World this year. Local news and reports have shown a drop in crowds because people are opting to take cultural trips instead. This means, traveling out of the country, museums, and relaxing resorts. This is exactly the reason you should take advantage. I could understand that maybe the hustle and bustle isn’t for everyone, but if you have been itching to go to Disney World and sitting on the fence about it, now is the time to go!

You’ll have a magical and more personal Disney experience, being that you won’t be competing with huge crowds. This will make your trip more relaxing, make rides easy to get onto, and leave more dining options for you to explore. Even in the heat of the summer or in the holiday season, 2024 crowds in Disney World are projected to be low, this is exactly the time to make your visit and have the dream trip you’ve been waiting on.

Deals, deals, and more deals

The third reason why you should visit Disney World in 2024 is because of the deals! Let’s face it, Disney is expensive. It is expensive for people who live in Florida, people who live far away, and even for people who live next door. So often I see the price of the parks as a dealbreaker for those wanting a taste of the Disney magic. Many miss out on the chance to experience it because of the price. However, due to the lack of crowds, Disney has lowered their prices to combat it. That means, no more crazy expensive Disney. On Disney’s website, you’ll find so many deals for all Disney Travelers.

To start, for Florida residents, for the entire duration of the summer and early fall (April 2nd, 2024 to September 28th, 2024) you can purchase the Discover Disney ticket. The Florida Resident Discover Disney ticket is a 4-day ticket for only $59 a day. That is half of the normal price for a day ticket. This means the total price of your 4-day ticket will come up to $235 plus tax. Not a Florida resident? Don’t worry, there are still some great deals for you. From now to December 15th, 2024, Military personnel can purchase a 6-day military salute ticket with park hopper for only $409 or a 5-day with park hopper for $389 plus tax. Both ticket options save you around $200 for the amount of days.

Then for everyone else, you can find the special 3 day 3 park ticket for $89 per day, for a total of $267 plus tax. Like the Discover Disney ticket, this is available from April 2nd, 2024 to September 24th, 2024. With low crowds and low ticket prices this year, 2024 is the absolute perfect time to visit Disney World.

Return of Disney dining plan

On the topic of deals, deals, and more deals, you should visit Disney World in 2024 because of the return of the Disney dining plan! That’s right, the Disney dining plan is back. Gone are the days of confusing prices, piled plates of food, and spending more than you need. With the newly returned Disney Dining plan, you get 1 quick service meal per day, 1 table service meal per day, 1 snack/drink per day, and 1 refillable resort mug. This deal is available for those staying on Disney resort properties and if you don’t use it all in one day, all treats and meals will roll over to your next day.

This is perfect for those looking to not spend extra on food and want to stick to a budget. The Disney dining plan puts everything you’ll want right in front of you, already paid for, and will save you a good $10 to $15 in the process. This is an extra way to save and knowing Disney, the price will likely increase in the next coming years. Because the Disney dining plan was just reintroduced, they are likely testing the success and therefore it will currently be the cheapest it will ever be. If you are a Disney foodie wanting to eat all the treats and stay on your budget, you want to visit Disney World in 2024, that way you can get the most food with this deal.
